Prof. Hübner among the top 50 in business administration

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is the most research-intensive university in Germany in the field of business administration. The latest edition of the ‘WirtschaftsWoche’ ranking not only confirms the top position, but also highlights the achievements of individual researchers: seven TUM scientists are among the top 50, including Prof. Alexander Hübner from the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability (TUMCS). Prof. Hübner heads the Chair of Supply and Value Chain Management there.

For the ranking of the magazine WirtschaftsWoche, the ETH Zurich analysed the number of scientific publications from Germany, Austria and Switzerland in about 860 journals over the past five years. In the category ‘Lifework’, all publications of the researchers were counted. Since not every journal has the same significance, the articles were weighted according to the reputation of the journal.

TUM has once again been ranked top among German universities. In the overall ranking, it is in third place, behind the University of St. Gallen and the University of Zurich.

Seven TUM scientists are among the hundred most research-intensive business school professors at present:

  • Helmut Krcmar, Professor Emeritus of Information Systems: ranked 6th
  • Stefan Minner, Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management: ranked 9th
  • Martin Bichler, Professor of Decision Sciences & Systems: 19th
  • Jens Förderer, Professor of Innovation and Digitalisation: 27th
  • Maximilian Schiffer, Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management: 30th
  • Paul Momtaz, Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance: 36th
  • Alexander Hübner, Professor of Supply and Value Chain Management: 47th
