To support our best students in the area of Supply Chain Management, we created a small network of like-minded students called the “Supply Chain Management Network of Exceptional Students (SCM-NEST).” Participation is by invitation only. The goal of this network is to foster exchange and collaboration. We host regular events such as get-togethers, research presentations, dinners, and company visits.
Dinner in Straubing
As part of our first SCM-NEST (SCM-Network of Exceptional Students) meeting, we hosted an informal dinner where all members could get to know each other as well as the members of the chair.
Visit to Krones AG
As part of our second SCM-NEST (SCM-Network of Exceptional Students) meeting, we visited Krones AG in Neutraubling (near Regensburg). Krones offers lines for the beverage industry and food producers, such as filling technology and packaging machines. Millions of glass bottles, cans, and PET containers run through a Krones line daily! We ended the day with a visit to the local beer garden.
Get-Together and Research Presentation
As part of our third SCM-NEST (SCM-Network of Exceptional Students) meeting, we hosted a get-together, including a research presentation about strategies to mitigate food waste.
