Industry cooperations

At the Chair of Supply and Value Chain Management we strive for close cooperation with the industry. This way we can demonstrate the connection of research and practical application of our field. Most of our research projects are structured as joint projects to solve real industry problems with a theoretical approach. Current topics include inventory management, vehicle routing and autonomous vehicles.

LARGE EUROPEAN GROCERY PRODUCER AND RETAILER

With a large European producer and retailer of groceries, we evaluated in-store operations incl. picking and packing processes for potential online deliveries.

AUTONOMOUS ELECTRIC DELIVERY IN RETAIL

Together with two large German retailers, we develop new operating modes for autonomous electric delivery robots, including real-time optimization methods.

LEADING GROCERY RETAILER IN GERMANY

In cooperation with one of the largest grocery retailers in Germany we identified potential solutions for managing excess inventory that originated from promotions.

LARGE GERMAN HOSPITAL

In our work with a large German hospital we developed new models for patient-to-bed-allocations. We were able to reduce overflow by over 96% while increasing overall utilization by 5%.

ONE OF EUROPE’S BIGGEST GROCERY RETAILERS

Within a close collaboration with one of Europe’s biggest food retail company we developed and field-tested novel approaches for shelf space optimization and in in-store management.
